Sacrament and the Atonement

In Sacrament Meeting,  a great and humble RM gave a talk. In it he said there are two ways to make the Sacrament more meaningful to us, so that it is truly a time when we receive a remission of our sins. 1) We must prepare. We can prepare by repenting throughout the week. Make a list of our sins throughout the week and order them according to severity. And then pray about them every day. In other words, don't push it off until Sunday. 2) Think about the Atonement during the Sacrament. Focus on it. Make it meaningful.

He also talked about how the yoke on oxen is applicable to us. We can only carry our load and burdens when we are yoked with Christ. The yoke, the thing that binds us to Christ, is our covenants. Ours is the only Church that has those and that does that for us.

He then talked about forgiveness vs remission of sins. Forgiveness is when we repet. It's soap. Remission is ordinances, baptism and the Sacrament. It's the water. What gets rid of sins for us.
